RESULTS WE ARE PROUD OF

EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW BEFORE APPLYING

01

Can I apply through Spain?

Yes, if you are legally present in Spain and can confirm your address, status and travel purpose. For Japan, we check nationality-specific rules in advance.
02

Which documents matter most?

The main documents are passport, form, Polish status, finances, itinerary and proof of travel purpose. For Japan, consistent dates and bookings are especially important.
03

Is personal attendance required?

It depends on the route: some cases are fully online, while others require an appointment, biometrics or original documents. We confirm this before fees are paid.
04

How long does the process take?

We first prepare the file; then timing depends on the consulate or online system. We recommend starting at least 4-6 weeks before travel.
05

What should I do after a refusal?

We review the refusal reason, fix weak evidence and update the form. A new application is recommended only after the case is stronger.

  • Visa to Japan from Spain
  • Living in Spain quickly teaches you that a passport and a ticket are enough to travel around Europe. With Japan, however, everything depends on the passport you hold.

    Spanish citizens can travel there without a visa for short periods, while a Spanish residence permit holder with a different nationality may require a full application. Therefore, two people from the same office in Madrid may indeed fly to Tokyo under different rules.

    If you do need a visa to Japan from Spain, it's best to find out before purchasing tickets and booking a hotel. Visa Agency verifies your citizenship, purpose, and duration of travel, and then explains the steps required for your specific situation. So preparation begins with a clear plan, rather than trying to replicate someone else's experience.

    What documents are needed for a visa to Japan from Spain?

    The Japanese consulate likes order: the application must clearly state who is traveling, why, and how much money they are spending. A random pile of documents won't help here, so the core of the package is assembled according to a clear list:

    • A valid passport;
    • A completed application form and a 45 x 35 mm photograph (two copies for applicants with citizenship of CIS countries, Ukraine, and Georgia);
    • A valid Spanish TIE residence card;
    • Flight details and travel itinerary;
    • Information about your place of stay in Japan;
    • A bank statement showing a certain amount in the account;
    • Proof of financial stability in the country of residence (employment documents, salary documents, business confirmation, etc.).

    If someone else is paying for the trip or you are traveling to visit relatives or friends, additional documents from the inviting party will be required. The consulate may also request proof of income, tax information, or account balances. Some consulates may also require a completed checklist using the institution's template.

    Visa Processing Time to Japan via Spain

    The processing itself is quick: in Madrid, a complete application is usually reviewed within 3-5 business days, and in Barcelona, within 5-6 (in practice, 5-7). However, relying solely on these days is dangerous. Before submitting, you still need to obtain an appointment or send documents by mail, and requesting additional information will extend the processing time.

    The embassy recommends applying at least three weeks before your trip. You can submit your application no earlier than three months in advance, so there's no point in putting it off until the last minute: Japanese consulates don't promise rush processing.

    Visa Cost in Spain

    Living in Spain and paying for a Japanese visa, according to the rules for Spaniards, are not the same thing. The consulate looks at your citizenship and visa category. Therefore, the final cost for two applicants from the same city may differ: one will be exempt from the fee, while the other will have to pay the full amount.

    The fee itself isn't always the only expense. Photos, passport forwarding, translations, and assistance with the application process gradually eat into your trip budget. To avoid skimping on tickets and hotels later, it's best to calculate all expenses before applying.

    Advantages of Applying Through a Visa Agency

    No one is stopping you from applying yourself. But when a trip is tied to a vacation, an invitation, or already purchased tickets, there may be no time for revisions. Therefore, in such a situation, it's easier to delegate the preparation from the start to those who know the procedure and aren't looking for answers on the fly. For example, the Visa Agency team will help you:

    • Understand your situation;
    • Book a reception slot at the embassy;
    • Complete the application form;
    • Prepare your travel itinerary;
    • Assemble your package in the correct order;
    • Check everything before submitting;
    • Monitor your application messages;

    We'll be with you from the start until you receive your visa, so you don't have to constantly guess what to do next or whether you've missed anything important. Submit a request: during a free consultation, you can discuss your trip and immediately understand how the paperwork will work.
