RESULTS WE ARE PROUD OF

EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW BEFORE APPLYING

01

Can I apply through Czech Republic?

Yes, if you are legally present in Czech Republic and can confirm your address, status and travel purpose. For Japan, we check nationality-specific rules in advance.
02

Which documents matter most?

The main documents are passport, form, Polish status, finances, itinerary and proof of travel purpose. For Japan, consistent dates and bookings are especially important.
03

Is personal attendance required?

It depends on the route: some cases are fully online, while others require an appointment, biometrics or original documents. We confirm this before fees are paid.
04

How long does the process take?

We first prepare the file; then timing depends on the consulate or online system. We recommend starting at least 4-6 weeks before travel.
05

What should I do after a refusal?

We review the refusal reason, fix weak evidence and update the form. A new application is recommended only after the case is stronger.

Vacation plans in Japan often begin with planning an itinerary for Tokyo, Kyoto, and Osaka. Visa issues come up later, and citizenship plays a significant role here. Czech passport holders can enter the country for up to 90 days without a visa, unless the trip is related to paid employment.

However, a foreigner living in the Czech Republic with a temporary residence permit may need a visa to Japan from the Czech Republic. Ideally, this begins with checking the regulations for your passport.

A visa agency clarifies the purpose and duration of the trip, determines whether an entry permit is required, and explains the rest of the process. This way, tickets and reservations are made after understanding the visa situation, rather than becoming an expensive excuse to rush.

What documents are needed for a visa to Japan from the Czech Republic?

The Japanese Embassy requests that a separate application be prepared for each applicant. Even spouses and children cannot share a single statement or set of reservations. For a tourist trip, you will need:

  1. A passport with two blank pages and a copy of the personal data page;
  2. A valid long-term visa or Czech residence permit card;
  3. A completed application form and a 35 x 45 mm photograph (two copies for applicants with citizenship of CIS countries, Ukraine, and Georgia);
  4. A daily itinerary of your stay;
  5. Flight and accommodation reservations;
  6. Bank statements with a specified amount;
  7. A document confirming employment, study, or business activity in the country.

The Czech residence permit must remain valid upon return from Japan. Most documents are accepted in English or Japanese, while Czech documents will require a translation. An exception is made for bank statements: they can be submitted in Czech.

Visa Processing Time to Japan via the Czech Republic

After submitting your documents, the embassy usually takes 5 business days. However, you'll need to add to this week the wait for an appointment: applications in Prague will not be accepted without a prior booking. There is no rush service, so expediting the process for an additional fee is not possible.

You can apply up to 3 months before your intended entry date. The best option is to choose your date in advance and leave a few days free in case the consulate requests additional information. This way, you won't have to plan your trip around a passport that's still being processed.

Visa Cost in the Czech Republic

The same address in the Czech Republic doesn't necessarily mean the same visa price. Citizens of the Czech Republic, Ukraine, and several other countries are exempt from the consular fee. For all others, starting July 1, 2026, a single-entry visa costs CZK 2,240, a multiple-entry or double-entry visa costs CZK 4,480, and a transit visa costs CZK 450. The fee is determined based on the applicant's passport and the date the documents are submitted.

Even with the fee exemption, other expenses remain: photography, translations, travel to Prague, and agency assistance. Therefore, it's best to budget for the entire application process rather than relying solely on the consular fee.

Advantages of Applying for a Visa through a Visa Agency

You can also apply independently. However, then the visa portion of the trip becomes a separate (and not the easiest) quest: you need to keep track of requirements, fill out forms, and not miss any steps that can't be rescheduled for the last day.

If you don't have time to do this, it's easier to outsource the preparation to a Visa Agency. Our team:

  • Analyzes your situation before the application process begins;
  • Books a convenient date for your visit to the embassy;
  • Completes the application form and creates a travel plan;
  • Prepares a personalized motivation letter (if necessary);
  • Collects documents in the order expected by the embassy;
  • Checks dates, translations, and information in various files;
  • Helps you prepare for your appointment and submission;
  • Monitors application messages until a decision is made.

By the time of your visit to the embassy, you will have a completed and verified package, not a folder hastily assembled the evening before your appointment.

Schedule a free consultation: our specialist will clarify the details of your trip and immediately explain what The agency will take over part of the process.
